The current Chamber Committee has a broad range of expertise in different trades & businesses plus a a wide range of local knowledge, we all come from very different walks of life - if you want to know anything about the Chamber feel free to tap any of us on the shoulder for a chat 


Tracey Friend (JP)

Chairperson

Tracey is serving her third year on the Chamber  and is honoured to be asked to be chairperson for the coming year.

 Tracey is interested to see how local businesses are coming along after a few torrent years including the recent cyclone in the district.

 Tracey is pleased to be involved in such a positive group like the chamber and would love to see more people start up their dream business here in the very central vibrant town of Dannevirke.

 Tracey runs her own business in Dannevirke, Tararua Funerals Ltd, and is a big advocate for locally owned and operated businesses, locals supporting local. 


Suresh Patel 

Deputy Chairperson   QSM JP Life Member

Suresh operates Shires Fruit & Vege Market in partnership with his wife Nayna and brother Peter. The towns  iconic third generation Business that has celebrated 100 years in business.

A committee member for the past 21 years, having also served twice as Chairman. Organiser for the Christmas Parade and is hugely involved within many sports and organisations.

His wealth of knowledge and experience is a huge asset to the Chamber.

Sharyne Wimsett

Treasurer

Sharyne is a Senior Associate at MCI & Associates. She has a degree in Business Studies, is a qualified Chartered Accountant and also has a certificate of Public Practice. Sharyne has more than 27 years of accounting experience and has been part of the MCI team since 2009.

 

 Sharyne is actively involved in her community; she helps out at the Dannevirke Athletic Club and, until recently was a board member of the Tararua Rural Education Activities Programme (REAP).

Robynne Cload

Robynne has been helping people buy and sell houses for 18 years both in Wellington and now at  Property Brokers in Dannevirke.

  Robynne is keen to see the Chamber membership grow and is a member of the After 5’s Sub-Committee which holds monthly evenings for members.  Robynne sees networking in real estate as essential and the After 5’s acts as a forum for current members and new business in the town to actively network in much the same way.

  The growth in businesses in town is exciting and the Chamber can play a really big part in bringing the business community together.  It’s exciting times for Dannevirke for sure.

Bryce Galloway

Manager of Dannevirke Mitre 10 and Chamber Member for the last 5 years. My background is the Building and Timber Industry.

 I’m a qualified builder having worked in the building industry in New Zealand and also England for seven years. I have extensive management experience having managed two other businesses for 14 years before coming to Dannevirke Mitre 10. We have a great team at Dannevirke Mitre 10 that can assist with any home project large or small.

 From Kitchens, Gardens through to Farm Sheds and anything in between, we are your local one stop. Everyone is welcome to visit the store where one of our great team will help you with your purchase.
